I am familiar with photoshop but not enough to do make drastic changes beyond my skills. I mainly stayed in what I’m comfortable of doing in photoshops like applying different filters on the photos. I do wish I knew more about photoshop so there would have been a good show of manipulations in my photos. I did select what I think is “better” photo of myself than what other personal photos I have so it was hard for me to see the two photos as “ugly” when I had to make them unattractive. What I did was try to go extreme with the brightness, filters and image curves in the photos so the photos would be unpleasant to the eyes.
Although I do a lot of online work, I am still not comfortable with my photos posted online. I guess maybe it’s the reason why I like being a writer. I can be part of the media but I can still stay behind the camera or a desk like in broadcasting, but I know that can’t always be the case and I will have to become more comfortable with having my photos posted online. It’s just that I know once you put something online, it stays up there I think even if you delete it so that is a bit scary. The only control I have with it is to try to limit any photos of myself posted online. This limit of privacy also seeps into my other social network sites. I try to do my best to update with new social network or blogging sites just so I can be familiar with them when needed as the digital arena expands.
